Frequently Asked Questions
What makes you different from other local videographers?
Two of the things that differentiate SunDolphin from most other local videographers are;
- We allow you complete flexibility in customizing the content for your video, your production level and hours of coverage, rather than locking you in to a pre-designed package.
- Our payment schedule doesn’t require your final payment due until your video is delivered to you.
Why doesn't SunDolphin offer Packages?
Simply put, pre-designed packages are not unique. SunDolphin studies every aspect of your event plans and develops a thorough and custom approach tailored specifically for you. Every bride, groom, wedding, venue, and day's events are unique; your production should be too.
Why should someone hire you?
Besides being fun to work with, we are creative, artistic individuals with a strong technical background and we are dedicated to preserving your day in a way that we are sure you will cherish. We are fully equipped, insured, and prepared to handle live event video production. We consider it an honor when someone entrusts us with that responsibility. It is a responsibility we do not take lightly.
How many months in advance do I need to reserve your services for my wedding date?
SunDolphin Production's invests a lot of time with you before, during and after your wedding in order to ensure your family heirloom is one that will be treasured for future generations. Because of this, we only accept a limited number of wedding bookings per year. Generally speaking, the earlier you book the better the chance we can accommodate you.
Will you attend the rehearsal? The rehearsal dinner?
We feel the rehearsal is as important for us as it is for the wedding party. Our standard practice is to attend the rehearsal for every wedding we do. We get to meet the wedding party, check out the lighting and placement of our equipment. Video coverage of the rehearsal and/or rehearsal dinner is completely up to you.
Are there limits to the level of production or content you can provide?
You are limited only by your imagination and budget. We will be happy to discuss the use of special equipment, props, etc. with you to elevate the production level of your video. As an example we can shoot a Bridal Highlight Feature at a local botanical gardens or off the Florida Keys on a 50’ sail boat shooting aerial footage from a helicopter - it's up to you.
Who exactly will be shooting my video? Do you use subcontractors?
Barring illness or any other unforeseen circumstances, your wedding will be shot using SunDolphin Productions camera operators.
How many cameras do you use? Do you bring backup equipment?
The number of cameras we use depends upon the production level you choose. We strive to eliminate any “single point of failure” when equipping for a wedding. This means that any piece of equipment subject to failure, whether it be cameras, batteries, lights, camera supports, etc., we keep at least one backup.
What type of camera(s) do you use? Why did you choose this equipment?
All of our cameras are professional high definition (HD) cameras. Shooting and editing in HD, even for videos delivered in standard definition DVD format, results in more brilliant images with richer color than is obtained shooting in standard definition. Also, since our entire workflow is in HD with the final step to “down convert” to SD, we always have the ability to re-release the production in HD if a client wishes to do so at a future date when they are “HD ready”.
What kind of lighting do you use? Why did you choose this equipment?
We have lighting ranging from on-camera lights to 650w soft lights we can hoist 13’ into the air to illuminate an outdoor ceremony area (if required) or a dance floor for that special “first dance”. The type of lighting used will be determined when we discuss the venue details with you during our consultation.
How would you describe your style -- cinematic, documentary, or a mix of both?
SunDolphin can produce a video that is purely documentary, purely cinematic or a fusion of both. Determining the style for your production will be part of the planning process with you. Since you aren't bound by a package you have the flexibility and you have the control.
Is editing included?
Editing is included
How long will the edited video be?
The length of your finished video depends on the duration of your event, depth of customized coverage, and production level. Given these considerations a finished video production varies for each client and can range from approximately 30 minutes to as much as 90 minutes in length.
Will I get the master tape?
The digital tapes containing the raw footage remain the property of SunDolphin Productions. Each DVD delivered to our clients is a master quality DVD.
What is your event cancellation policy?
If your event is canceled, you are only responsible for the balance due as of the date of cancellation, according to the payment terms stated in your contract.
What is your customer satisfaction policy?
Our goal is to deliver production that will exceed your expectations. We will keep you “in the loop” during the edit process. At specific intervals, we will invite you to preview the production and discuss any changes you wish to make as we proceed.
